Ah, it's that time again. John Denver gets together with his Muppet friends to have a great holiday together. Except, wait! It's summer, John is taking everyone camping, and it's a Rocky Mountain Holiday! [48m] Break out the tent stakes and build a fire pit!

Every once in a while something like this reminds me that back in the day, shows had a much more leisurely tempo compared to the brisk pace of modern fare. I mean, I love me some classic Muppets, but wow that was damn near soporific. Nice scenery though.

And the sing-a-long at the end managed to make me cry because Muppets are an emotional bullet against which I have no defense plus John who shaped my worldview but also gone too young and jeebus and tears and damn Muppets damn crying.

I'm okay now, but earlier... sheesh!

Thanks hippybear! I was trying to chose between the Muppet Christmas Carol and the Muppet Family Christmas for tonight (as I do every year!), but this I haven't seen yet!

When I'm camping? Not at all; but neither would that make much of a TV show.

Very cool! Thanks for posting this. I feel like I probably watched this as a kid, as the Muppets were pretty popular with my sister and me.

During the year it took me to flunk out of engineering school I partied a lot. Rugby parties were always the most hardcore and I only went to a few. The only thing I know about Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas is that when one of the teammates passed out they wrote on his back in Sharpie, "Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas is my favorite Muppet special ever."
