The article itself is pretty average onionwannabe schick...
But the ending?
Pure absurdist genius.

When I first read the headline, I thought it was true.

"What about Pink?"

"Hate the color, hate the singer."

This made me laugh out loud. But, yeah. Pretty low level stuff. The ending is surreal.

I was going to write about how satirewire isn't funny, but I went back and read the ending. Now I just want to talk about how the satirewire staff is apparently on powerful drugs.

But still not funny.

Oh, I dunno...the CEOnistas was pretty funny. :)

Satire doesn't equal senseless unfunny drivel. It's supposed to amuse and make a point. This does neither.

cool fact #354 : mat groening, creator of the simpsons, was either a member or affiliated with the green peace before becoming a rock star animator.

wish i could rememebr which tho

Each to their own. To my eyes the Greenpeace stuff was a setup for the irreverance at the end and that made me laugh a few of times.

deja420: The CEOnistas is indeed very funny.

The Greenpeace stuff is just alright. If it were on print, I would have said its not worth wasting paper on.

There's nothing worse than a bunch of J-school dropout halfwits who think they're clever and funny but aren't. There ain't a university on the planet that isn't overrun with too damn many of them.

At least The Onion makes me chuckle about a third of the time.

Except, perhaps, people who whine about them on the Internet.

Man, what grumps. Don't worry, SatireWire, I still love you.

I don't know if I find The Daily Probe funny or not Co-Worker Says "Great!" More Than 30 Times a Day
Ugh, another Onion rip-off? Well, for all my eye-rolling and bellyaching, yellow journalism makes the world a better place!

Greenpeace has lost it, in my eyes. They've turned fanatical, and act before they think (that is, make research). That is very unfortunate since they have been doing a good job, aerlier.

The Onion is a lame Onion wannabe these days.

Satirewire is terrific. It falls flat sometimes, but when it's up, it's up. Observe these three links: Axis of Just as Evil, Rats and the Pentagon, and Global March Madness.

Unlike the onion, satirewire also knows when to draw the line and not become tasteless. Observe this Pearlesque article that ran in the onion this week.
