Surprisingly, the UK Christmas Number One is the charity single by, youtuber and 'Celebrity Dad Of The Year', LadBaby: 'We Built This City' - a cover of the Starship song that's also a homage to the sausage roll. (Sausage rolls previously)
That video was positively charming!

This is delightful, and shockingly timely for me since I just got back from picking up donuts and sausage rolls for breakfast for the first time in at least six months.

The reason this is number one, as the guardian article indicates, is in the long tradition of charity singles.
This one is to raise money for food banks. So people don't go hungry. in the UK.
In March 2018, a 13% increase on the previous year.
The best comments on the guardian:
When I was a lad, we had charity songs for the starving in Africa. We've come so far. Tory hearts must be bursting with pride.

Why do we only think of the poor and homeless at Christmas?
Why not think of them at a general election?
