This is terrific information. My only knowledge of the scandal are/were from the Movie Eight Men Out. While I assumed they took some Hollywood liberties, I did not appreciate so much of what was portrayed was inaccurate.

Thanks for posting this. The baseball season is about to begin (or has begun for two games in Japan). My favorite time of the year. March Madness and the beginning of the baseball season. There is so much sports hope right now.

Another myth is that the White Sox were overwhelming favorites to win the Series, a great team obviously throwing games when they lost. The Reds had ended the season at 96-54, while the Sox were at 88-52.
