Two problems with this game:

1) it's first round/quarter/semi/final

World Cup is first round/ eighth/quarter/semi/final

2) I haven't been able to reach the finals. yet.

Haha! "Keep violence virtual". That's a riot.

Got to the finals and lost to Argentina. One trick is, just like in Street Fighter - if you retreat as your opponent attacks, your little fella will block the oncoming blow.

I find it pays to advance on to the opponent's side of the field while varying the attacks every two moves. That said, I lost to feckin' France, the canny beggars!

I just wailed on the "D" key and tried to corner my opponents. Won it all on the first try with the U.S. (we gave them uppity Croatians quite a whoopin' in the final).
