From Big to Aidan to...the ballet dancer? Sex and the City's author and inspiration Candace Bushnell got married to 33-year-old ballet dancer Charles Askegard July 4 on a Nantucket beach in Massachusetts. The couple has only known each other for eight weeks.

Bushnell is an idiot and contributing mightily to the Downfall of American Civilization. Never heard of the ballet dude. Anyway...

I think what Stevis was trying to get at (?) in his FPP is that the couple has known each other only for 8 weeks. Well, in defense of short courtships, my wife & I had our first date on October 18th. We enjoyed the symphony, late supper on the Riverwalk, and then an all-night diner until 5 a.m. We were inseparable from that moment, and got married on November 17th. That's right--only 4 weeks later. The year: 1990. So we're approaching our 12th anniversary, and couldn't be happier.

Sometimes you get it right, you know?

My husband and I got engaged before we ever had an actual date. MeFite kristen and her husband got married during their first date. Marriage is a 50/50 thing these days anyway, so why cast aspersions when the ink is barely dry on their marriage license? They probably have as good a chance as anyone else.

However, I'm all for casting aspersions on Bushnell for creating the impetus for foisting Saricah Jessica Parker on the American public. For that, she should burn.

No, we thought that we were just best friends, but we realised during a miserable summer apart that, hey, there was love going on, and the apart thing kinda sucked. So when we got back to the same city, he proposed and I said yes, then we went on our first real date, with hand holding and kissing and good stuff like that. We didn't get married until a (school) year later.
