People here used to mark posts with SLYT and sometimes a time length. I'm going to do that in the future. Not everyone is at leisure and plugged into a power outlet and with high bandwidth connection.

It's definitely one of the more entertaining things I've seen on this channel lately, though.

Talking of Monet, I just found a neat little VR museum exhibit thing about him on Steam. It's a five minute presentation and a bit of a hagiography, but still very pretty and well animated.

The SLYT warning is no longer needed given the little in-line video link arrow after the main video link. Anyway, cool video.

Opinion is divided on whether Claude Monet actually won the French lottery or not.

There is a story that he was able to afford to live so well and do so many paintings because he won 100,000 francs in the lottery in 1890, but his wikipedia page doesn't mention this at all and does mention how he made a decent living selling paintings.

The only confirming sites I see for the lottery win in my quick check are clickbait story sites, but it could still be true. I like the idea of a time-traveller fixing the lottery purely to ensure more Monet paintings in the future.

I have no idea what you're talking about. That may be a feature of your particular browser, or an extension you installed, but it's not built into the site.

(Update: Huh, it's an optional feature buried in the preferences menu. I learned something! Still not on by default.)
