The TiVo logo should never be personified or placed in scenarios (like celebrating, cooking or skateboarding) or depicted wearing clothing or costumes (like Santa hats or Hawaiian skirts).
If anything is to be gained in this exercise, it is contained in that one magical sentence. Notice that they didn't mention anything about Domo-kun kicking the TiVo guy's lily white asss. posted by machaus at 3:53 PM on July 9, 2002
I'm really glad I don't have a television. If I did I would be forced to buy a TiVo, and I know I would be totally hooked to it. posted by anathema at 3:54 PM on July 9, 2002
When I click on the "read more" or "wallpaper requirements" links I briefly see a page with EPS downloads, before being forwarded to a File Not Found error. They appear to be using Flash detection, auto-sending me to some crappy Flash interface they forgot to put online. I don't think I want to assist a company that uses Flash interfaces. One TiVo? Where have the boom days (and unsold stock) gone . . . posted by alan at 6:38 PM on July 9, 2002
Close, but no. Though before I started law school I did spend some time in Chapel Hill (this was before law school of course) and I do read Harpers (while not studying for law school). I don't have one because I love them too much (even by proxy while I'm in law school) and don't know when to stop. For me, being in law school precludes me from having a TV. I actually do have a big television in the closet and it will remain there while I am in law school. See, I'm actually nothing like that guy. posted by anathema at 8:13 PM on July 9, 2002
Goddamn it, Matt. I didn't win one the first time around, and now you're telling everybody about this contest, too. posted by anildash at 9:23 PM on July 9, 2002

I don't understand how they can say this, when the startup sequence for the Tivo has the little Tivo logo going down a long spiral slide. That's a scenario, isn't it?
I can't imagine the point to that restriction. posted by crunchland at 4:36 PM on July 11, 2002
