Higher Education? NOT! The lawgivers have decided young economically challenged drug users should be punished by denying them knowledge.

via Bad Hair Days. How does this help to resolve the drug issue? Education and a good job would do more to help society. As Barney Frank notes, persons with violent crimes on their records aren't denied student loans. Raise Your Voice will send an email to your representative on this issue. If you agree with the law you can use the site too, editing the text to call for further punishment, maybe denial of food and shelter?

This particular law makes perfect sense. The problem is with the laws it's based on. If those laws didn't treat folks who get caught with a dime bag and folks who sell heroin to kids in such simililar ways, this one wouldn't either. That's the problem you need to write your "representative" about.

I agree, Freakho, concerning the context of the current drug laws. I personally would write my congress dude to request all of the drug laws be rewritten to emphasize treatment rather than incarceration or withholding of positive benefits.

Also all my letters (3) sent via Raise Your Voice were returned (Host Unknown).

I think we need the Ludovica treatment. Send in some of that SRM-114, that's what we need in these days.

Dammit, Papercut, this is not about "helping society". This is about getting re-elected! Get the priorities straight.
