The 2020 Fumble Invitational
February 22, 2020 7:44 AM   Subscribe

Previously on the Fumble Dimension, Jon Bois and Kofie Yeboah introduced a golf game with a course designer that could be charitably described as "broken", and asked fans to design the Worst Course Ever.
This time, Jon and Kofie play that course. (SLYT)

Spoilers: There are a lot of cows.

This is absolutely hilarious. I am crying laughing watching it

Yeah, this is perfectly delightful. I figured I'd watch a minute or two of it to get the gist, but I am fully on board with this being an hour long video. There's something about how sincere their tone is combined with the ridiculousness of the situation that is super compelling.

This is ridiculous in the best way. A perfect storm of surreal course design and deadpan voiceover, seasoned with just the right amount of video game glitchiness. I think real golf courses ought to have helipads jammed into the side of a hill, that players could pogo-stick through while trying to set up their shot.

"Just to the right of the fairway of hole 5, an anonymous viewer has requested 'buildings'. The only explanation given is, 'I don't know lol' This, of course, is how the City of Houston was built."

This was amazing. Best Fumble Dimension yet.

And yes, Kofie is 100% correct with his thoughts on canned tomato paste

Will somebody get some medical attention to that poor kangaroo on Hole 2!?

Also Jon's theory on how he plays golf is great. "I don't care where it goes, I just want it to go a long way."

This is brilliant. And I somehow missed the first three Fumble Nations, so I know what my day is going to be.

"why are the lighthouses floating?"

"safety"

This really was surprisingly funny. I watched the entire thing.

I had not ever actually seen what Jon Bois looks like, and it's young Nick Offerman

Kofie now on just his second shot on a par-seven. He has a chance at an extraordinary quadruple eagl- horse is dead.

"OK, here's Jon now, and it looks like he's under a helipad. I don't know how he's going to get out of this predicament here...there's some cows, there's some moose"

These guys are really high, right?

Splunge: I don't think so, actually. I think they just have a particular, mostly untrained, video delivery style. Jon has been making videos a little longer than Kofie, I believe, but they're both primarily writers/pointless-experimenters rather than performers, and here they're leaning hard into a Golf Announcer affect that's underplaying how hilarious this stuff is to them personally. But I can see how the end results look very similar.

Yeah, their low-key delivery segues perfectly into golf-announcer-ness, which really sells the whole bit.

Kofie almost always looks high to me, but he might just be high on golf here.

For all you fools with an XBOX who wish to try this for yourselves, Kofie has provided some detailed instructions.

It's like Monster Factory but for crowd-sourced golf course design.

A user transcribed the recipe for his chicken soup on Reddit and I think I know what I'm doing this weekend.

A friend of mine and I spent way too much time in (gulp) 1991 creating the worst course ever in Jack Nicklaus' Unlimited Golf. I haven't started this video yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how this course compares. The highlights of ours were a hole in which the terrain consisted only of concrete and water, and another one where the hole was located halfway up a hundred-foot cliff.
