Brian's been a very naughty boy... i would like to tell you lot about brian the watford fan. i have been going out with him for 3 years and he has been cheating on me and i found out last week that he hase given me hepatitis after his holiday in Greece. i know he spends a lot of time on here. some of you will know him.

Bwahaha. Kind of amusing, the idea of getting revenge by telling the truth about someone in an online forum. Of course, it only works if the truth is unsavory enough... And the trouble is, how are you going to prove it? On the net, the truth and the lies look an awful lot alike, and not many people are going to go to the trouble that it takes to sort out whether a given accusation is one or the other. High profile stuff, like the whole Kaycee Nicole thing, is a different matter, though.

Cracking good stuff, true or not! Reminds me how boring we Americans are with our total lack of good slang words. A few of my favorites from the thread: minger= A sexually undesirable or smelly person. scummer = Term of abuse for those from Southhampton And you can even buy the Tindlegate t-shirt!

What would happen if someone here said they got a sexually-transmitted disease from a fellow metafilterian? How would you know if they were telling the truth? If I'm wrong, Ragamuffin, tell me. What does the truth look like on the net, and how does it differ from how the lies look?
