The accusations against Ron Jeremy were covered by Rolling Stone in 2017. He has been charged with three counts each of forcible rape and forcible penetration by a foreign object, and one count each of sexual battery and forcible oral copulation.

Ugh.

Ginger Banks posted a video to Youtube where she documents at least 50 women offering similar testimony, in 2017.

Was there some kind of turnover in LA District Attorneys office or did they abruptly start to care about rapes committed by celebrities?

the sun is a relentlessly misogynistic and racist (amongst many many many other sins) Murdoch gutter press paper from the UK. this story needs to be told, but can we use other links?

"The counts make Jeremy the third man to be charged, along with Harvey Weinstein and producer David Guillod, by a task force formed by the Los Angeles district attorney, Jackie Lacey, in 2017 to investigate sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry in the wake of #MeToo." - The Guardian

Ugh. Just ugh. I'm glad that he is finally facing charges; I wonder if this will cause others to come forward and lead to additional charges.

But also, I agree with the comment above by lalochezia, there are better places we could be sending traffic.

This is honestly one of the least-surprising such revelations I've heard, frankly.

A friend of mine has a zine that covers vintage porn, among other things from the underbelly of pop culture, and he wrote a piece 18 tears ago about accusations of rape against Jeremy. He presented the woman's side of the story and had no doubt that she was telling the truth. 18 Fucking Years Ago!

Thirding the call to swap out the Sun links, they are trash. AP, CBC, BBC, TPM, take your pick.

I find it rather jarring that in the middle of the AP article there's a link directing you to full coverage under, "Entertainment".

Time to do another cull of the library. Always believe women.

Their entertainment section is for entertainment, but rather about people who work in entertainment.

Call me a harpy or whatever, but I'd be more surprised to find a male adult actor who didn't sexually assault someone.

I've read Traci Lord's Autobiography in 2004 (it was first published in 2003)

I'm not surprised by this *at all*.

I think what might be shocking is how many more women are going to come forward with horrific testimonials.

Jeremy started his Porn career in 1979.

Prior to that he was apparently a teacher - although I don't know what age his students were.

Time to do another cull of the library.

What does this mean? Was Jeremy a published author?

No, porn library.

Was Jeremy a published author?

Wrote so God damn fast
Never did win no Booker Prize
But he never did come in last

FirstMateKate, yes I know the entertainment section covers cultural entertainmet. The juxtaposition was just odd as I was reading the story.
