Metal, Meat, and Bone

Infamous anonymous music collective, The Residents, have released their 47th (or so) album, Metal, Meat, and Bone: The Songs of Dyin' Dog. The album is a collection of re-interpretations of blues songs by little-known Louisiana blues musician Alvin Snow, AKA Dyin' Dog, who had a connection with the group from their early days in Shreeveport... or, is it?

Snow allegedly recorded and pressed several demos 7-inches for the Jewel Records label, one of which, "Bury My Bone" was posted on YouTube in July of 2019, but information about the man that hasn't come from those associated with The Residents is non-existent.

Regardless of the origins of the songs, The Residents have released a pair of music videos to promote the album: "Die! Die! Die!" featuring Black Francis of the Pixies, and "Bury My Bone" (NSFW).

(Mods, mind adding "is non-existent." to the end of the second paragraph?)

I swear the vocals on Bury My Bone by Dyin' Dog sound like (old as he is now) Tom Waits.

(Louisiana pedantry: it's just "Shreveport," not Shreeveport)

Agreed with Catblack about the Waits vibe.

"Die! Die! Die!" - wow. Seeing that after spending some time in COVID reading is... intense.
