Probe: Feds Missing Weapons, Laptops
"Hey Ed, what happened to those UZI's and MAC-10's we had?"
"Jeez, I don't know. Last time I saw them they were with the laptops."
I'm glad the INS and FBI don't use SAM's.

Ho ho ho. That reminds me of this affair. Although it was a big deal at the time, losing 400 laptops is much more impressive. Maybe at this rate if I loiter around government offices I can finally get my mitts on an iBook?

The theft of federal weapons is a time honored tradition, dating back to the Kennedy era. Most cases are an inside job. In fact, three days before the JFK assassination, a high speed chase through the streets of Dallas and subsequent crash resulted in the recovery of a cache of stolen weapons from Fort Hood's Armory. The weapons destination? Jack Ruby's Carousel club; and then into the hands of anti Castro Cuban exiles working with the CIA. Regardless of ones feelings about the assassination, it's hard to deny that there were some shady dealings going on with the CIA, Army, and Criminal underworld in those days. Apparently, somethings never change.

Lest I be accused of spouting "newbie" hyperbole, I will cite the source of my info. I gleaned this little tidbit from recently released Dallas Police files, obtained by the authors of "Oswald Talked" (Pelican Press) a newish book on the JFK assassination. Though this subject occupies my every waking moment, I will try not to draw parallels in every thing I post...just this once... Please, no flaming from LNers. Thanx....

Oh please. Feel free to work the JFK assassination into any thread you like. I live within spitting distance of the house Oswald was living in at the time of the assassination, and drive by the Book Depository almost every workday, so it don't bother me none.

...what's an LNer?

It appears instead to be shorthand for "Lone Nut advocate". And there's considerable enmity between them -- and almost every other group interested in the assassination.

Why, this is obviously the fault of those X-filers. Have you seen the way Mulder and Scully are always losing things while running away from misshapen, government cloned super-soldiers gone bad? Shameful wastage, that is.

Have you been to the 6th floor museum? I am thinking of coming to Dallas next november, (2003) for the 40th anniversary, but it will probably be pretty crazy, crowded etc...
