"I wasn't out saving the world. I was just at Bloomingdales."
SaveKaryn.com is a website set up by a New York woman who is begging for cash to help pay off her over $20,000.00 in credit card bills. Was the money for an operation? To save her sick mother? No, it was for her shopping addiction, and now she wants you to help bail her out.

Wow, talk about an unworthy cause that doesn't engender any sympathy from me. I have a credit card, and I don't use it irresponsibly.

Together, we can banish credit card debt from my life!

Or, you can do it yourself!

Well, I am not going to bitch about that. I got problems of my own.

It seems to be working. People have donated $2714 so far.

What is she willing to give me in return?

Toss a couple of topless pics online. If you've already shunned your dignity by begging people for money, you might want to give them a little sumpthin' sumpthin' in return.

so, i can post topless pics of myself and you'd all donate money to me?

DailyBread: That is hilarious. I hope all the housepartying teenagers in my neighbourhood don't figure this out.

"Dude, we had this party and I was like totally wasted and I sorta hurled all over my mom's bedspread and she's coming home in like 3 days, so I really need like two hundred bucks. That would be wicked."

So did she pay for the domain and the hosting with a credit card?

Dammit, what didn't that show up in the search?

God, does this shameless whore deserve one Metafilter post, let alone two?!

She doesn't even have good taste. I mean, Prada for fuck's sake?

from the bottom of waxpancake's link: "Some people are slow payers..."

Takes one to know one, Karyn?

This reminds me of The Amazing "Send Me A Dollar" Website. What is it they say about fools and their money? Of course, I'm just jealous that I didn't think of it first.

I think she used to beat Evanizer up when they were kids or something.

I love this site and have been back most days since it started up. She may not have any money but she has a sense of humour. And she's done a great job of flushing some thouroughly miserable bastards out of the data pipes ;-)

If you read thru the site (FAQ, Daily mEmail &c.) you'll find answers to questions re: topless pix, her asking for money, worthy cause &c.

I'll point out that she is doing what many, many bloggers are doing -- updating her site daily, asking for donations & selling some stuff.

Put yer pitchforks down...

To her credit at least she's selling her stuff on Ebay. I presume this is the stuff she ran up her debt buying.

The only real problem I have is how do know she really has this credit card debt? This website could be scam. How about posting some of those bills to her site so we can authenticate her claims.

I'm going to send her seven bunnies wrapped in seven pancakes soaked in seven quarts of pony piss. *Seven*
