Finally, a questionable sixteen-year journey comes to an end: the finale of Charlie the Unicorn, in which they finally explain what the hell is up with those two other obnoxious unicorns. Previously and again. Here are the previous parts, in one video.

That feels weirdly bittersweet.

An ending to something I didn't realize was such a marker for a certain kind of very online early 2000s childhood.

I'm happy they made it, and I feel kind of old.

I'm so inexplicably fond of those terrible, terrible pink and blue unicorns. They're the worst, but those weirdos have also made me shed literal tears of laughter. Somehow the reveal that they were demons all along only made me fonder of them.

I'm struck by how much Charlie's experience is exactly the kind of victim blaming spiritual bypass in the neighboring FPP.

There was something resonating about this even back then and this was it: being blamed for asking reasonable questions, having doubts, not giving in to whimsy because it always has costs and then suffering those costs again and again in a surreal nightmare.

Reminiscent of this even earlier surreal theft of agency.

Thank you for this. I didn't know there was more to Charlie the unicorn than the original Candy Mountain video, so it's been a fun evening getting caught up!
