"I worship the prophet The great Mohammed Omar Atta For his courage behind the wheel of the plane Reminds me of when I was dealing 'caine." These are the lyrics composed by the modern-day Shakespeare, Cam'ron, and rapped by the latest flavor-of-the-month, Juelz Santana. And I was beginning to think hip-hop wouldn't sink any lower...

"couldn't sink any lower" ?

You're going to have to justify that.

This isn't the lowest. I think the (alleged) cannibal rapper wins by a lung.

I don't have to justify anything.

For years I have liked rap, hip-hop and R&B, but lately it's getting ridiculous. Each "new" video is the same repetitious (and stereotypical) crap. To paraphrase something from an Eminem album, it's all about big-screened TVs, 40s, blunts and bitches. And the nearly-epidemic levels of sampling makes each pass through the radio or TV dial daunting.

Those quibbles aside, I am dumbfounded with these two thugs' stupidity. As it was said on whitetrashrepublic, what the hell does selling drugs have to do with the killing of innocent people?

I'd say that it's time you stopped getting your "new hip hop" from music videos, then.

One guy. One mind. Not a hip-hop fan myself, but one character in the mix saying crazy shit (okay, presumably a whole grip of them) speaks nothing for the whole genre of hip-hop.

But I will add, with front page posts like this, Metafilter sure is going down the drain though.

this was much better than a freestyle i once heard parodying Ludacris' "We Drop 'Bows On'em" with "We Drop Boeings On'em."
