Why do people like chihuahuas? Or any other toy dog, for that matter? I have never known a tiny dog that wasn't constantly hyper and suffering from a severe Napoleon complex.
Oh, wait.
Oh, wait.
This post was deleted for the following reason:
Because they're cute (self-link). And they can fit in your bag while you go into a shop, and they can run around in the house without breaking stuff. (Also, small dog: small poop.) And Dos Pesos, who is here playing in the office as I speak, is perfectly quiet (no barking or whining).

(Also, what does the last link have to do with the first ones?)

No, I'm confused too. I'm all for toy dogs, but that last link has me baffled.

I think you gotta love em because they're just so darn puntable, i mean you see the cute little guy shaking as it attempts to climb a stair which is it's own hieght and you just want to pick it up and score the extra point.
And as for the last link....man your weird.

because they're cute (self link) and it's been my experience that people who continue the stereotype have never spent any time with a chihuahua.

"One of these things is not like the others..."
But I gotta admit, that guy in the last link has a great scam going. If he lives until he's 90, he will have really made out on the deal. I gotta remember to use that myself when I'm over 70.

I don't know... most toy dogs are 'big dogs in small packages'. They can jump up/down things almost ten times their height, fearless (I've had to pull mine off of a mastif's neck before), and cute as &$%#.
As for the barking, it's all in how you raise it. The problem is that small dogs when they're puppies, have incredibly cute barks, so people usually giggle or clap or whatever when they do (positive reinforcement). It's all in the upbringing.. if you treat it like a weeny little small dog, it will act like one. I treat mine like they're regular big dogs, and that's what I get back. (yorkshire terrier, and toy poodle)
