Forget the world for a minute, darlings. It's suppertime. Let's use our fabulously round and colorful dishware from America's premier champion of casual living, the handsome Russel Wright. An artist, industrial designer and marketing genius, Wright was a pioneer in spun aluminum before his innovative American Modern dinnerware (designed for the masses, not the classes) made him a star. Housewives would line up for blocks when a new shipment arrived. Some of his pieces are truly museum-quality. Cooper-Hewitt Museum quality, to be exact. Only 3 weeks left in the exhibition. And if you see Carmen, one of the world's top Russel Wright collectors, do tell her hello.

MELMAC!!!! Ooh, a fellow fan! (Would you like some tea?) I don't recall seeing you at the party, but, well, I'm sure you know how those society events are. The spun aluminum pieces don't get enough respect, you know (tread lightly, it's one of those sites). Never have wood and metal made more beautiful music together. (Cream and sugar?) And Miguel, if you make a joke about bun warmers, I swear I'll sentence you to eternity in Bed Bath & Beyond. The horror. And for all you people who simply can't be bothered to do anything more than drag a newspaper URL over to MeFi and slap it up on the front page, here's the obligatory New York Times link. They mention that ghastly woman in the same breath as the artiste Wright, which means that, like most newspaper URLs, it's barely worth mentioning on the front page at all -- let alone by itself -- on a site as delightfully net-savvy, brilliant and popular as MeFi. There's so much more (have you ever seen such gloriously bulbous salt & pepper shakers?), but since I hear there are Ann Coulter fans in the house, I'll refrain from providing too much honest information about the world.
