Conceivably the cutest story in all of existence. A big guy pulls over in his 'Tactical Honda' to rescue a kitten; turns out the kitten was an advance scout. "Bein' soft-hearted sucks" Home. Wagon ride. mew mew mew

"It's an ambush!"

His description of trying to load the kittens into his car is funny (two kittens loaded into the car, one kitten jumps out of the car, repeat. Finally he figured out to load them into a slightly opened window). I would have loved to see that on video.

Hahahaha. I literally said "OH no" out loud when the kittens all started materializing out of the grass. They got you, man, fair and square.

"Who would do this?" The moment he simultaneously realizes the kittens were probably abandoned by humans and that, therefore, despite his nano-second earlier declaration that he can't take them all home, he's definitely taking them all home.

Here's the link (reddit) where he describes trying to load the kittens into the car. I had it wrong--it was one kitten loaded, two jump out.

Dog: Is this okay? I guess it's okay. I'm staying up here for safety, though.

As the line goes, there is no love greater than the love between a pet and the dad who said you can't have one.

This has been making the rounds all day, but even so, I hadn't seen all the videos. Thank you for collecting them in one place!

It's kittens so I was already on board but then he legitimately said "hot diggity dog" and this is just too perfect.

(except for those kittens being abandoned. boooo! But I'm glad he came along and saved them.)

Once, at work we found a wee kitten nosing around the dumpster. When it kept sticking around for the rest of the day, I opted to take it to the city shelter, which was on my way home. For some reason, the instinct of a terrified kitten is to hide under the clutch pedal if the vehicle has a manual transmission. It was an interesting drive...

lalochezia, you mean like finding out that our kitten savior is a MAGA guy? Because that did it for me.

(I know, I KNOW... people contain multitudes.)

I am unable to unpack it but it feels significant when I see people I otherwise find abhorrent posting cat videos with obvious love. How is it we cannot agree on the basics for our fellow humans and yet can so easily agree on kittens?

My sister in law (who, by chance, found a kitten in her car's engine yesterday) said of this video that the kittens were employing the classic hitch hiker strategy of sending one person out to do the hitching, while the rest hide until a car has stopped.
"You go out first, you're the smallest. The rest of us will hide in the grass..."

Sadly, having the capacity to care for animals but not people is pretty common. Animals are less complicated and easier to trust, I guess...

You're right, it is a big jump. I didn't mean that as a comment about the guy in the video, I don't know anything about him. I was just responding to solarion's comment: I am unable to unpack it but it feels significant when I see people I otherwise find abhorrent posting cat videos with obvious love. How is it we cannot agree on the basics for our fellow humans and yet can so easily agree on kittens? as a general idea.

Someone redo that Clickhole headline, "Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Just Made A Great Point".

I'm glad those kittens have found someone to look after them and I hope the outpouring of attention from the world onto this guy helps him expand his philosophical borders a little (though between the photo of a signed MAGA hat from Don Jr. and the #guncontrolisracist memes I'm willing to bet it's sadly quite entrenched).

If there's MAGA involved, it's pretty clear!

But I don't care about politics in my cute kitten video. Thank you for the cute kitten video.

For some reason, the instinct of a terrified kitten is to hide under the clutch pedal if the vehicle has a manual transmission.

I've had occasions to let larger cats loose in my car, and this is a seemingly universal cat trait.

For some reason this is blowing up on Spanish language twitter with a 30 hour delay.

Cheers to bad people doing good things! And nice things that don't need language to understand.

Those kittehs don't look like they were outside too long either, so that's nice.
