It's silly, but it's also amazing what innocent parents will miss sometimes. Of course my partner (a professional sexuality educator) and I clued in immediately.

The Harry Potter Nimbus 2000 Broom (amazon.com) "features a grooved stick and handle for easy riding." It also "has cute sound effects and ***VIBRATES*** when [children] put it between their legs to fly" (read the comments, especially the 2nd and 6th).

What exactly is their target market, do you suppose?

kalessin: Do you really think the designers of this toy were perverts or something?

I think it is entirely possible that this to was designed, and can be enjoyed, innocently.

And what's wrong with review #6? Did you mean #5?

Triple to be deleted post. Read your l fi mefi, run the thing in search first, I don't know what. This is three days in a row.

er, lofi mefi--but just the same... This is amazing how this keeps getting linked.

This was posted before, and Matt deleted it.

I think Matt should probably just let this one post survive, or he's going to be playing a lot of whack-a-mole on this one. It's turning into a meme of AYBABTU proportions.

y2karl: How do you find that?

Fark was having the same problem yesterday (people continually submitting the story), and finally put up a link with "ATTENTION: please stop sending in the Harry Potter broomstick story, we had it up last week fer cryin out loud".

Maybe Matt can just add an auto-delete feature with a long, flowing mane and shiny bridle.

Well, it's been the subject of one MetaTalk thread and two MetaFilter posts and I have the lofi button on my links bar and I read fast.
posted by y2karl at 1:19 PM on September 4, 2002

Oh, to have a lofi search function added to the posting script...

Not posted three days in a row by you, kalessin, but three days in a row that link has shown up on MeFi.

Oh, kalessin, it's understandable and no biggie. This was the third post of it, if not the third day it was posted. I'm exasperated over other stuff--didn't mean to jump on you. You didn't do anything bad--keep trying.
posted by y2karl at 1:25 PM on September 4, 2002

Not your fault kalessin, you really couldn't have searched for it, or hang around Mefi all day to happen to catch one of the previously deleted posts.

Watch the line breaks though. :P

Even my daughter's friends enjoy playing with this fun toy. I was surprised at how long they can just sit in her room and play with this magic broomstick!

Priceless..
