I was a bit underwhelmed at the start, but wow, does she build up through the song! Thanks for sharing this.

Definitely need to stick to it.

How the hell was The Captain release 20+ years ago. I still catch myself singing "We're all gonna die someday"

Wow, that was amazing. Thanks to the commenters for the advice to stick with it or I wouldn't have - it's a long, long build and a lot to ask for someone who isn't a fan (I've never heard of her). But it looks like I'm about to be. Thanks for posting this!

I had no idea how much I've missed her, him. This apparently now? Thank you for showing me.

Daaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmn!
Talk about making a song your own.
Definitely a slow burn, but well worth the wait.

Holy shit!!! That was fucking AMAZING. She had me from the first bar. I am blown away. I was worried it would be hokey, but she owned that damn song. Wow. Thank you for sharing!!

A masterful performance, and an excellent example of how a great song is a great song regardless of genre, style, etc.

I've heard a lot of rap covers that are essentially just playing on the dissonance of singing extremely vulgar words in a fun folksy way. Really cool to see someone approach the task 100% earnestly. Incredible cover, start to finish.

Never liked Eminem enough to listen through a track of his (urg, the misogyny), but I gotta say he can write a good rhyme.

Oh wow. In the same spirit that Johnny Cash covered Hurt, I will say that: "She owns this song now" - at least in my mind.

Yeah, same. That was a very early-00s thing to do, for some reason. However! If y'all liked this, you're gonna love Lissie's absolutely fantastic cover of Kid Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness" - so much better than the original, it may as well be a different song entirely. Also done live, so it shares some of the intensity of this Kasey Chambers track.

Thanks for sharing!

It's neat that this is an "official" video that assembles a bunch of videos from audience members. I mean I don't love a bunch of cameras in the air when I go to shows, but this makes great use of them.
