Hmm, it was my understanding that the song Rape Me was about Vanity Fairs article about himself and Courtey Love being unfit heroin addict parents. Supposedly he sent them a postcard or a letter with the words "youre gonna stink and burn" to the magazine even.

oh, and that Heavier than Heaven book is shit. Anything that was ok'd by Courtney Love is bunk. them sonic youth kids didnt much care for the book as well.

i'm not trying to be flanders, but looking back i did kinda sound like it. i wanted to get across more that i was looking for more substence about the condition of the actual house on the seller's page. i stand behind the statement that nirvana is quite derivitive of the melvins and others; also meaning nirvana were still good at what they did.

nirvana borrowing from the pixies? erm, hardly. though i'm sure they're fans of each other i can't imagine either citing the other as an influence. both bands found their sound around the same time. they also each put out their best record around 1989, imo. they also both had mr. steve albini twiddling knobs for them during their brief careers (perhaps it's albini's influence on both that is similar). to me, nirvana will alway sound like beat happening, melvins, and the jesus lizard tossed in a blender. this is a good thing. certainly no one had more of an influence over Kurt's live performance than David Yow.
