This reminds me of Hollywood Stock eXchange where you can pretend to be both a movie mogul and an inside trader at the same time. Only I think being an owner of an ISP would be a bit more boring. As for advertising, that's how people think they can make money off the 'Net now, but I don't know of anyone who actually buys stuff just cuz they saw a web banner or read something at the footer of an email.
