Why a Duck?

Why a Duck? The most comprehensive Marx Brothers site on the Interweb. Thrill to their collection of sound clips! Learn what happened today in Marx history! Play a ton of Marx Brothers related games! Kill an entire morning reading about their career! Warning: Not to be confused with these Marx brothers.
Excellent Link, Joey Michaels! I wish Groucho was a live today just so he could have a weblog. I remember reading that Groucho, a junior high dropout corresponded with Einstein. This is the acme of cool, you ask me.

Here's an interesting Groucho-related link that was posted yesterday on bOINGbOING. And here's Snopes to give us the real story behind it.

What a great site; a fantastic link, too - thanks. My dad turned me on to the genius of the Marx Bros. when I was in short pants, and I love them and their movies still. jonmc - I hear you. If there's one celebrity I wish had a blog, it would be Groucho.
That letter to Jack Warner, regardless of how honest Groucho was being (so he was lying to and f*cking with Warner Brothers? Good for him!), is a prime example of that once-in-a-lifetime-if-that wit. He's one of the people I really wish I'd gotten to meet.

There are times when I hate Snopes for spoiling perfect honest fabrications.

I totally agree. If nothing else, it was an absolutely brilliant publicity campaign.

Some of my earliest media memories are of The Marx Brothers...it amazed me that something in black-n-white, featuring only people (instead of muppets, puppets, or superheroes) who talked really fast, could be so funny & zany. Great link --thanks.

Same here! My dad's got quite an amazing collection of Marx Brothers films, books and CDs. And when my folks go away on vacation and ask me to tend to their plants I usually end up having all night Marx Bros marathons in front of their TV instead. In one week they're leaving for Greece. Aaaahh...
