Heh. I was wondering how long it would take someone to figure that out. Well done.

Jeez. I'm always complaining that I don't share my birthday with anyone interesting. I did not know until two minutes ago that I shared it with this man. If only my mother had waited one day, I could have shared it with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas, Will Smith and Cheryl Tiegs. All right, maybe my actual birthday compadres don't look so bad...

That guy's funeral procession still ranks up there as the funniest footage I've ever seen on professional news, where the crowd is so upset at his passing that they yank down his corpse and desecrate it in an attempt to snatch a piece of his clothes/decaying flesh/whatnot. Great, great stuff.

Would that make him a Vigo or a Pisces?

He is Vigo! You are like the buzzing of flies to him!

RE: Khomeini was a sick bastard, wasn't he?

He sodomizes a cow and it's the cow's fault? Now that's really unfair.

A hundred years old today? I think that guy was born a hundred years old. And without a sense of humor.

Hey! I just got an e-mail! For every birthday card we send to Khomeini, an anonymous donor will contribute $1 to a fatwah. I'm so there.

Is this fatwah Snopes approved? I'd hate to get scammed by a bunch of spamming jihadists.

Could he not count, or did you elide several of the less interesting impure things? If the latter, thank you.

Well, I didn't really need any more after the camel, but the quote must have been edited where the "..." was.

His birthday is disputed though. Many list it as May 17th. The year is reported anywhere from 1900 to 1902.

Khomeini is a mystery in Iranian history. He was the most charismatic figure many Iranians ever seen in their whole life. However his life was divided into two sections: before revolution he was the most popular, the kindest, the strongest, the greatest man in Iran, and suddenly after the revolution he became more and more hostile, fanatic and unpopular.
Most of it was the result of executing many Shah's high-ranked officials, the Iran-Iraq war, and the way he treated with opposition during the 8 year war and afterwards.
His fattwa to kill Salman Rushdie just for writing a book was the silliest thing he ever did and many people around the world can not forget it. He had a dark side, as well as a bright side.
