Mullet Talk, FM morning radio show comedy at it its finest. Of course, in Pittsburgh we appreciate the finer things in life. Sadly, this is the only episode I could find on the web.

I'm at work, and have no access to audio, but I'm assuming this is about how funny those idiots are with their stupid hair? How much better we are than a lower class because of our superior coiffure? Stop me if you've heard this one before . . .

If anything broadcast on DVE is anyone's example of anything at its finest, methinks that person has a very limited scope of experience from which they are making such an assessment. This isn't funny. The show isn't funny. The djs aren't funny. This is the same show that was reduced to advertising this on-air duo with full-sized billboards showing a woman's cleavage in a bikini top with the caption "Quite A Pair." [sarcasm] They're just vibrating with their excellence in broadcasting. [/sarcasm] Please.

You don't have to stoop to this. There are fantastic comedians amongst your countrymen. Quick, run out and get a Bill Hicks tape before its too late.

I was being sarcastic with my use of finest and finer. There is nothing refining about FM morning shows (where i implied the sarcasm) , but they have a large audience. Someone must like them. Besides this coming from a Pittsburgh station I mentioned Pittsburgh especially because it is traditionally known as a working class town. Working class being the audience targeted as people driving to work in the morning listening to a classic rock radio channel. 2 of the three pittsburgh classic rock stations air this type of show. The other one being the nationally syndicated "John Boy and Billy show". The other classic rock station airs a conservative talk show that i am sure you people would dislike even more but that is beside the point.
I posted this because it is cheesy not because I think it is cutting edge comedy. I find humor in cheesy. These people are making fun of themselves and a large portion of their audience, people that can laugh at themselves, otherwise they wouldnt listen. They know its cheesy and thats the point. Thats what the medium is full of.

Make fun of a black sub-culture http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/16064 and its funny and acceptable. But there is no humor, cheesy or not to be found making fun of this white sub-culture. True or not that is the picture painted so far.

I am new to posting and wasnt sure how to embed the link. I tried the way i do it on livejournal and well ..it didnt work.

Well sorry, Rec, I wondered about possible sarcasm. Doesn't translate well in writing. I think the word "sadly" tipped me the wrong way. But isn't Wayne's World making fun of a white subculture?
