Edible books. The International Edible Book Festival is held yearly on April 1 in cities around the world. (Yes, I know, April 1, but this is apparently real.) Mmmm, I could just eat up a juicy novel right about now, like Great Eggspectations!

Don't waste your time reading Flowers of Evil, Leaves of Grass,
or The Grapes of Wrath; they're nothing but roughage.

The historical precedent for this work is John Cage, who made edible paper by laminating vegetables. He never drew on the pages, only displayed them framed on the wall, mostly as a social statement about art, use, and temporary functionality.
