I rather spend the $75 on something more useful, like winning a Grammy. No wait, those are junk too. posted by mkn at 10:05 AM on June 12, 2000
Slashdot is so-o-o-o 1999!
I think each MeFi member should pitch in 7 cents to submit an entry for Mathowie's masterpiece (or, if we wait until near the submission deadline in October, the growing membership should shrink the price-per down to 2 or 3 cents...) Did somebody say they've found a micropayment system that actually works? posted by wendell at 1:41 PM on June 12, 2000
BTW, gsxl, if you want to promote your site, try putting the URL in your MetaFilter profile...

I don't think the Webbys should charge $75, but oh well, that's them. I talked with a guy from the Webby Awards and asked him, he said the $75 is to cover the expenses, and it gives personal sites an equal chance of winning as the big corporate sites, which also have to pay the $75. I dont see any corporate site sending in a check to the Webbys for $75. I dont know, I just cant imagine it. Corporate bastards.
