Wall hangings for your peace loving sims. I've only logged about three sim hours, but this inspires me to boot up my little sim family. When the Sims online comes out, can we have sim protests at the sim white house, or sim mefi protests at mathowie's sim house?

probably not,
the sims is a glorification of the status quo, and as such probably not willing to take those chances... at least officially. i'm sure one could gather up enough people to protest (maybe), but i don't see what there would even be to be an activist about. your sim is too concerned with their needs to worry about other things. you might be able to advance in your job very quickly at a protest, but someone would have to buy a LOT of toilets and beds.

Simulated war protests. Is there any better statement of the impotence of the US anti-war movement?

I just don't get it - everyone I talk to opposes a war with Iraq. But the most coherent opposition that's visible is a comedy fake news program on cable.

This is not the time to be a silent majority.

Completely unsurprising. When I bomb my Sims' houses and torture them, they just run around with sad signs, pick fights with each other, urinate on themselves, and eventually die. Not one has developed a coherent defense policy.

Now, my Sandkings, on the other hand ...

Oh for fuck's sake, Nelson. It's a customizable video game, and people will customize it too your liking. If a Beatles fan custom-included a Beatles poster in their little Sim house, would you go off and say that it's a "statement of the impotence of Beatles fans?"

If anything, the Sims are going to go online soon, which means people will see and interact with each other's houses... making it not a simulated sign of war opposition, but an active one. And then, of course, the bombings will start.

I don't think that SimSWAT teams would be assigned to this SimTask.

Rather, the SimPolice department would send in the SimCrowd Control Unit to do that.

They might even use a SimWater Cannon to disperse the SimProtesters!

I duno, with my experience with the game, my Sims kept starting stuff on fire, I don't think they could handle firearms... The game would end to quickly with them shooting each other...

Plenty of simulated war games too, last I checked, and that doesn't mean the military is impotent. There's no correlation at all, matter of fact. Hint hint.

But anyway, The Sims is the most depressing game I've ever played. You wake up just in time to get dressed and go to work, then you come home, eat, put out a fire you've started due to inept cooking, watch two hours of television, then go to sleep again. Eventually you start crying due to the lack of social contact and recreation in your life. Every time I play it I get this urge to quit school and start riding the rails.
