The werewolf mythlives at this site, with essays, reviews, fiction and art, while the likely genesis of the werewolf mythos has its roots in folks like Larry Gomez, just your ordinary guy with congenital hypertrichosis. posted by headspace (4 comments total)
Cool link, headspace, just in time for Hallowe'en. I've had a wolfman thing going on ever since I saw the old Chaney flick as a kid... Adrift Just Of the Islets of Langerhans... by Harlan Ellison helped, too. How does it go? "A Curad Ouchless bandaid with the words

I recently saw the cable movie Wolf Girl, about a bright teenager with hypertrichosis in a modern-day traveling freak show. One of the locals takes her to his mother's lab in the basement where animals are being tested with some experimental formula designed to rid the body of excess hair. Wolf Girl steels a bunch of needles and shoots up, even though the stuff makes her insane -- eventually she looks like a normal teenaged girl, but acts like an animal. posted by Modem Ovary at 12:48 PM on October 30, 2002
