Google Computeis a distributed computing project involving users of the google toolbar. It's a light application which uses idle processor cycles to analyse data for "carefully selected charitable projects, with the guiding principle being to help humanity and advance scientific knowledge".

The Google DC is still only for beta users who write in and request to be added. IMO the best DC solution looks to be BOINC which has a lot of needed features to take DC to the next level. I envision companies could be paid money to run BOINC funded through non-profit donations.

When will they come out with a functional (and not wholly ugly) google toolbar for mozilla? What good is all of this until then?
