It's all in good fun, my friend.

I wonder if there's enough carbon in pancakes to turn them into diamonds!

it would be cool to do this with a turd, and give it to someone you didn't like

Sounds like a Ferengi thing to do.

I guess we should be thankfull they aren't serving a Martian menu.

This is the Martian link.
No idea what happened to the first one.

LifeGem = DeathGem?
Euphemism?

Soo.. instead of giving your fiancee your grandmother's wedding ring, you can just give her your grandmother!

Hmmmm, you no longer have to carry around those darn urns! You can simply wear your relatives on a nice, upscale necklace, suave, and quite resellable. bling, bling!

from the site: "Yes, this is available for your PETS!"

Awesome. Do I have to kill it first?

Okay, npost--since this thread will be deleted anyway, will you please explain the "bling" thing (hey, that rhymes!) to me? That way very few people will notice that my pop-culture reference knowledge is, in this case, deficient.

"Bling" is the verbalization of the sound effect when you are blinded by the light reflected off of shiny objects. Thus, when I flash my 'ice' (diamonds), there will be a sparkle like in 70s videos (bling bling).

Cool. Thanks, Stan. "Bling" is so fun to say, sometimes I say it for no reason. I was worried now that I was saying something I shouldn't...

Try it out, it's fun:

Bling!
Bling!
Bling!

Sha-BOOM-bah!

I thought it was more like "ka-ching"; i.e., "in the bank".

Yes, this is a pop-culture deficiency for me too.

Bling, Bling - euphamism for diamonds, in today's hip-hop crowd, of which I am the farthest removed :-( I just wanted to show off my prowess and education from accidently watching a 30-second snippit of MTV's Cribs... where some guy was talking all about the "Bling, Bling" and showing off his shinny diamonds.

It does flow smoothly though!

Google seems to indicate that Bling is often the gleam of gold gangsta jewelry.

Gold teeth?
Beware if at work: Rap moosic starts a-playin'.

Bling Sims?

I think I'll do a post about Bling...
Nah!

Please, don't delete this thread now! It has value! It's all about Bling!

This was a Metafilter Post I was going to make, but for some reason decided not to. Anyway, if you want to make your own rap CD with snazzy photoshop bling bling covers, be sure to check out Pen and Pixel.

i swear i searched.

Just out of curiousity, what did you search for? Both a thread search in the last year and a Google of the site for "Lifegem" turned up old posts.

Sorry Shane.
I didn't wait for your link to fully load.

Stan: Congratulations, that was the best explanation of "bling" I've seen. You get syrup on your pancakes! (And when are those pancakes getting here? We're getting hungry...)
