Data Archives from the American Presidency ProjectFascinating statistical data about a variety of subjects, and not just trivia either. Includes data, for example, about Congressional concurrence with the President, number of Presidential vetos, number of first-year requests, etc. Good information for acquiring an overall understanding of our current political situation.

It's easy to get wrapped up in the moment and to regard an election as either the end of the world or the beginning of a glorious new era. I think this site helps to give some context. It seems (to me, anyway) to show a nation neither failing nor booming, but merely rolling along as it always has.

great link, oissubke, and I finally got over my temporary bout of politically induced projectile vomiting long enough to explore it. You make an excellent and gracious point in your comments, about life going on no matter what your persuasion. And in the spirit of presidential history there's this excellent resource on campaign memorabilia too. (I probably got the link from mefioso plep where I find tons of my favorite links.

Great link! If you look through the Portrait Gallery, every President, including G.W. Bush, has a painted portrait, except Clinton. His portrait is a photograph.... I wonder if he never had an offical painting done?
