March 8, 2003--on this date an astounding discovery will be revealed to the world. What do you make of this? I pretty much have discounted it as a hoax, but it was interesting and vehemently written enough to leave a bit of a lingering doubt in my mind. I don't think this has been posted before, I did a search.

Hmmm. I think it didnt show up as a duplicate link, Scarlet, because you used 8march2003.com and the original poster used www.8march2003.com.

Also, bryanzera didnt use march or 2003 anywhere in his post. I'm not sure how you could have done a better job of searching. It's interesting but someone else beat you to it this time.

I do have to say, stating "I don't think this has been posted before, I did a search" in the post itself is funny.

I wonder if he used "the net search engine" and typed specific words that would cause the Gubment to show up in a black van.

Wow, this is the first FPP where the photos in the comments more than make up for a double post.

I think there was some talk about a firmer hand in yanking stupid threads recently, I hope it's decending now...

I do have to say, stating "I don't think this has been posted before, I did a search" in the post itself seems like an intentional double post.

Could it be yet another publicity stunt for some upcoming movie, like all those "The Ring"-related sites? ("Some have suggested it is a publicity campaign for a new movie thriller"). I say it is.

ps: "I then remembered a friend telling me that everything on the net is scanned at a classified central processing agency."

Isn't it called google?

I doubt it. March 8 2003 is a Saturday. Movies are most often released on a Friday, occasionally on a Wednesday or Thursday before a long weekend--hardly ever on Saturday. Of course, it's possible that it could be a movie publicity campaign involving a date other than the movie's release, but it doesn't seem likely.

Please, if growing up means you lose your sense of humor to the point that you can't laugh at those two pictures then, please, never ever grow up.

*wishing I had installed Photoshop on my machine at work*

Packaging is everything. I saw this post earlier this month and scanned it for 1,00000th of a millisecond. Something about red text on a black background I guess. While the content is intriguing the second time around, I'll wait until March 8th 2003 and see what happens.

Only two things were mentioned on the webpage with any specificity:
  1. The date: March 8, 2003.
  2. The camera: "It was an Olympus OM40 SLR, which was in production during the early eighties."
Film was still usable...hmmm...

I think I get the picture....

On March 8th of next year Olympus launches a new camera design.

Smile! You're on Corporate Camera.

it looks like the perpetrator may be this guy; he seems to have been the first one to post to a news group about it (here), quickly followed by "jimbo" with a hotmail address, who carries on...

But message IDs show the same origin: gintilas :: jimbo.

I've posted this at the original thread, as well...
