Iraqi parliamentary committee recommends rejection of UN arms resolution Not sure what this means but it does not bode well for Iraq, unless Saddam decides what will or will not be.

It's news, Jim, but not as we know it.

The Iraqi parliament has not yet made "it's" final decision... The meetings are expected to last most of the week.

Clearly Iraq's parliament is a mouth-piece for Hussein, an attempt to give whatever pronouncements he makes an air of legitmacy. I can't imagine why, if he has any intention of complying with the UN Mandate, he would allow the first statement from the Committee to be something of this nature. Either 1) he has no intention of honoring the UN Mandate, and is going to use the council to make it appear that the PEOPLE of Iraq are with him, thereby complicating US efforts, or 2) this is a negotiating ploy an attempt to say "gee UN, I would love to comply but my people won't stand for it, give me some room (a la Yasser Arafat)
