Thanks for the link. This looks really interesting, but I can't help but wonder if Greenaway is moving into the realm of over-intellectualization and "Art," pronounced "Aht" and with a capital "A." Drowning By Numbers is probably still my favorite of the Greeenaway films I've seen. I wasn't quite as impressed with the Pillow Book, although Greenaway seemed to be quite impressed with himself after that one. I saw Greenaway introduce Pillow Book and answer questions at a screening of the film at the Cleveland Art Institute Cinemateque. He came off as very pompous and self-absorbed and, when one completely enamoured fan gave her interpretation of her favorite Greenaway movie, he cut her down coldly with a short sharp comment to the effect of "I have no idea what you are talking about and that was not what the film was about." In my opinion it was rude, shocking, and a little vulgar, and I still feel a sorry for the poor fan, disillusioned by her ungracious (former) idol.

Ah, that's a sad story shane. I just finished re-reading the book version of The Falls, and it is just mesmerizing.
