Bashkortostan is actually a fascinating place, and I for one (perhaps the only one, aside from plexi and mcwetboy&apos;s friend&amp;mdash;great article, by the way) am very curious to see how they work out their ethnic situation.  The Jamestown Foundation has an &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.jamestown.org/pubs/view/pri_004_002_004.htm&quot; title=&quot;The idea of a Bashkir-Tatar confederation has supporters in both Kazan and Ufa. Bashkortostan&apos;s president Rakhimov told Prism that such a confederation was quite possible in the future.
