I first ran into MikWright greeting cards at a little shop a couple of months ago. Recently, I purchased a desk calendar that will fit nicely on my cubicle wall and help me on days like today. Hope you all enjoy them too. Here are some of my favorites. Browse some for yourself.

Love these cards - too bad they're so (relatively) pricey. I have a few I'm saving for just the right occasion.

Wow... I discovered these for the first time ever, earlier today.
What a coincidence.

Ah, MikWright! Glad you all have (finally!) discovered them.

Ufez, your links aren't working--dunno if it's just me, or traffic, or what.

Gaf! Thanks, hippugeek. That'll teach me to compose comments in WordPerfect.

Here are my favorites (again). Browse here. (flash req'd to browse).

brilliant idea, but not the only incarnation.

i saw these last december in a great little shop in north chattanooga. the shop was called spoonfed and the owner made cards like these by hand, sewing the snapshots (or reproductions there-of) to the greeting-card stock. some of them were captioned, others were pairings of dictionary definitions with appropriate photos. hilarious and subversively retro.

unfortunately, she closed her shop in january.

It would be interesting to know who inspired whom there, grabbingsand, or whether they arose independently. I started seeing MikWright in Virginia three or four years ago.

Your third link is one of my very favorites ever, too, Ufez.

Vaguely unrelated: the 2003 demotivators calendar is out...

Don't you just love it when the "click to enlarge" button pops up an almost identically sized version of the original picture.

These are vaguely reminiscent of the Psychograms shorts from Liquid Television in the early 90s. (Dear mum. Injected the serum today. Results have been somewhat unexpected.)

God Bless Americana covers similar territory but with a more anthropological angle.
