the most important one - and judging by the tales I've heard of people mapping the NYC Wireless survey, the one they forgot: Guide to Public Bathrooms in NYC whether or not they're clean is another question

Cool, I can see my system on 95th and b-way. I never carry a patch cable around any more with my laptop; I've been able to open up the laptop and find free access almost anywhere I go. The revolution is here.

802.11b is the name of the standard. Something to do with IEEE hierarchies set up long ago, I expect. The marketing name, which of course nobody (who actually knows the stuff) uses, is Wi-Fi.
