I say we MeFiers club together and buy it, then move in. Matt can be mayor/moderator. Five Fresh Fish can drive the back hoe, fold_and_mutilate can drive the International tractor, Jessamyn be the librarian. And so on. Hey, when the price ($1,650,699) is divided by the number of MeFiers (17,139), that's only $96 each. Of course that's U.S. funds, so it does kind of suck for the Canadian MeFiers, but still...

I love how there are no real details, like oh, I dunno...zoning maps, tax structures, demographics, current residents....so, I'm with fatbobsmith, I think I'd like to put my town up for sale too. I'm tired of the current batch of town elders and would like to swap them out for new evil overlords please. And if I can make a profit on the deal, well, so much the better.

A news story about it, in dutch. It appears to be legit, though it says they're only selling 10 houses and 4 sheds and some land. The current owners are apparently the Lapple Family.
