I used to have this on my show's links page--I love this stuff. In The Histories, Herodotus talks about the battle of the ibises and flying snakes--which is what me perk up when I first ran across this site.

Neat site, y2karl. Interesting to think that Herodotus may have heard about flying snakes from so far away. Or maybe the idea of flying snakes was cool enough to show up even without any direct evidence. This snake makes me smile every time. It looks so damn intelligent as it sizes up its flight path. And then when it drops its body off the branch and goes for it - wow. What an amazing creature. jragon: Don't leave us hanging. :)

I just saw the most AMAZING show that had these snakes and other flying creatures -- on Discovery. It was called Wild Discovery: Weird Nature. The filming was remarkable, surpassing even the likes of Attenborough and Microcosmos. Great show if you can catch it.
