Busted!

Friends Reunited Oh how lovely to link up with old buddies again, and let them know how well things are going these days! To tell them of the sports cars you're driving, and how it was all made possible through your occupation of selling 'charlie'. Surely no-one will ever find out?

Further proof that it takes no intelligence what so ever to both use the internet and sell drugs.

Suggested "reason for deletion": More appropriate for fark or memepool; nothing discussion-worthy here.

Hmmm...so if I were to brag here in MeFi that I committed an illegal act, I might get found out! Whew...good thing no one knows about that school library book that I checked out in 1972 and never returned...

D'oh! Let the cat outta the bag on that one.

To try and kick some interesting posts out of this thread, this reminded me of a story.

A guy called Brian Tindle went on holiday, came back, and gave his girlfriend a disease. She went mad, logged onto his football club's website, and posted about his infidelities. Read the story here. It ended up with lots of people trying to work out who it is, and, eventually, the embarassing outage of the real story.

Do you have any good stories of when people have been busted for boasting? I'm starting to feel all Frayed.

OK. OK. I have to put in more effort. The thing is - I kinda like the simple, one link, one shot, post. It has synchronicity. Or something.

apocalypse: So do I. I think some things are suited to one link posts, and other topics are suited to multiple links.

In this interview, Matt Haughey said << I noticed one thing at the fray that MetaFilter lacked, and it was a single character. A question mark. So this one day, I decided to stop speaking at the community of readers, and start speaking to them, engaging them. >>

As long as any post can do that, it's good by me. The only problem, IMHO, is that your post missed the question to spark a discussion. But this is getting very MeTa, so I apologise, and I look forward to your next post :-)

Is no one at all concerned that the cybergestapo is lurking in chat rooms? What the fuck has this world come to..........

The rule has always been: don't say anything online that you wouldn't be comfortable with everyone in the world reading.

Another rule: don't sell cocaine
