:::SCREAM::: wouldn't it be more efficient to just dip britney in wax..? posted by patricking (21 comments total)
Ahh, the second sign of the Apocalypse! Wonderful... posted by deckard at 9:03 AM on June 28, 2000
The first sign of the apocolypse, of course, involves the now accepted use of terms like "Britneybilia". posted by sixfoot6 at 9:17 AM on June 28, 2000
More efficient than that would be to bury her in a time capsule that won't be opened until some time after my death. ...okay so maybe not more efficient, but more preferable.. Here's some virtual representations of museums which you (whoever you are) may or may not consider worthy of your time:
ROFL! OH MY GOD! That is so sick! I know what place I'm staying away from! posted by FAB4GIRL at 12:24 PM on June 28, 2000
Yeesh. So much venom. Of course, I remember spewing just as much vitriol about Barney. Somehow, Western Civilization survived the Coming of the Purple Dinosaur; I suspect it'll survive Britney. posted by harmful at 12:42 PM on June 28, 2000
actually, i thought it was keen, in kind of a sicko way. now i have somewhere to uniroinically wear my britney glitter-tee. :) posted by patricking at 12:47 PM on June 28, 2000
oh, and i forgot to add: chicago's museum of contemporary art has consistently intelligent shows and programs. the last thing i saw there was a kickin' performance of contemporary japanese puppetry, alongside huge moriko mori prints. yummy. posted by patricking at 12:51 PM on June 28, 2000
Sometimes something comes along which lets me know just how far out of it I am.
there's something really poignant about a performer who can fit herself into such a strict formula, yet change the paradigm enough to retain a distinct identity. cross-demographic, no less.
i took my roommate's niece (cheap excuse) to see the britney not long ago. she may be a pop smear, but she works her ass off onstage with a professionality far beyond her years. posted by patricking at 2:51 PM on June 28, 2000
As I think about it, I particularly like Marchesa Brigida Spinola Doria, and have ever since I saw her on tour at the Seattle Art Museum... But hey, what I can I say, I'm just a sucker for intelligent-looking flirty brunettes... :)
