Voices from the Trading Post. You know, you can get a job anywhere, but this is not just a place to make a living. This is a way of life. Life on the Navajo reservation in the 19th and 20th century, in the words of the traders themselves (text and sound).

[this is good]
gottabefunky, this is a fabulous link - - I love oral histories, and this one is quite good. The photographic slide shows are truly excellent, it's quite an extensive site. It's a good historical and thematic adjunct to plep's recent thread, also rich with quality links.

I've seen this post sitting here all day, but sometimes these content rich, deep sites take more time to explore than I have in the daytime. But I assure you, there is a fan club for quality finds like this - thanks!

I'm late again, but this is a great read/listen. I especially like the section on Medicine Men. Thanks!
