from New Jersey to Oregon and they're looking for a place to stay. Check to see if they're coming to your town or read their blog. It's not as hard as walking around the world or running for 1000 miles in 1000 hours, but it's still ambitious.

We have found a passionate individual in Silicon Valley and we have asked her to tell us what makes her heart beat, what keeps her up at night and what excites her as she looks about her surroundings. And we have asked her to give us the name of another passionate individual further south, and further south... They started on Sept 2001 in San Jose (California) and today they are in Granada (Nicaragua)...

I'm hoping someone will link to the guy who traveled (is traveling?) around the world staying in people's homes. I thought the fact that these guys don't have any lodging lined up makes it more interesting than the running aspect. They can run 20 miles in 2-3 hours, so they'll have a lot of time to spend talking to people in the towns where they spend the night. According to the discussion on the site where I read about this run, they've secured a documentary to be filmed about their trip. Hopefully it will be a entertaining as "The Straight Story."

Hmm...well I grew up in Wyoming and a lot of the towns listed on their itinerary for Wyoming aren't actually real towns, more like points on a map. I'm doubting they'll find places to stay there...should be quite an adventure to say the least.

Just about every interstate exit in the US has some kind of hotel. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Young and foolish. I've hiked the length of the Appalachian Trail in Connecticut, and I'm telling you the idea of running 3200 miles, staying with strangers and eating just from my pack, borders on lunacy to me. But, beats sitting in front of the tube, I guess. Hope they make it.

Last year I decided to do the same thing, but in the opposite direction, and alone. I'm planning to start in the SF Bay Area and end up in South Florida, but my trip won't start until 2005. My friends have all been saying I'm crazy, but they believe me. Maybe I'll just join these guys if they decide to do a return run.
