Mersenne Prime Searchis a distributed computing project much like Seti@home, except instead of searching for aliens, you're in the running for $100,000 and a place in math history (shouldn't your computer actually be the one that goes into the math history books?).

This is terribly exciting to me, but how can I choose between having my computer search for aliens, and search for numbers. I have a bunch of old mac's and pc's lying around, it might be time to press them back into service.
