Hilarious! But I want one and I couldn't find it at Zany Brainy. The cheapest one I could find was for $50 at the hobby warehouse . I'm sure my wife would enjoy meeting this thing at 5 in the morning (BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!) Any pointers for cheaper blimps?

So damn funny. Mostly because I've been there, shrieking in horror when a small staticy balloon stuck to my pajama pant leg at 3 am looked amazingly like a small alien creature trying to attack me. The rush of relief, humilation and adrenaline when you realize your error is something you don't forget.

Helium isn't flammable. Hydrogen, on the other hand, very much is, as proved by that most-infamous blimp the Hindenburg (it was designed to use helium, but flew under hydrogen power(tm)). On preview: the spell-checker incorrectly lists 'Hindenberg' as the proper spelling, fyi whoever might know how to correct that.

I remember when I was about 15 years old I had grabbed a mirror from somewhere and had temporarily placed it in my bedroom leaning against the wall across from my bed. For some reason, I woke up that night and sat up in bed and I saw the dark shadow of someone staring right at me. I almost shat my pants and I froze in terror. I just stared at the person looking at me not knowing what to do next. Of course, I had to move a little just because its impossible to sit upright and completely still in bed, so then the figure moved and I absolutely panicked for a moment before realizing I was looking at my own reflection. Damned, that was so funny I'll never forget it.

There was a tv special were some scientists proved that it was the fabric of the Hindenburg that made it go up. Some of the compounds the fabric was coated in can now be found in the space shuttle's solid rocket boosters.
