"Uri Geller [warning: pop ups] became well known for a few scientifically unexplained phenomena. They are Telepathy... Dowsing... Bending, breaking and softening metal and other solids with the power of the mind, e.g. spoons, keys etc, more rarely plastic and glass; Fixing broken watches and appliances, and using collective power, influencing the Big Ben to stop; Moving compasses with the power of thought; Erasing computer tapes and disks; and Sprouting, causing tiny seeds (mainly red radish) to grow a few centimeters in seconds." Why not thrill to a biography of this favorite pseudo psychic of the 70s? To be frank, until just now, I wasn't even aware that he was back!

He's also (as far as I remember) the man who arranged for Bashir to interview his close friend Michael Jackson. Two weirdoes for the price of one, what more can you ask.

Wow! Uri Geller returns?

It's like, you know, we're in the early 70's again: Bell Bottoms and retro styles (wide ties), gas guzzling cars - then there's this divisive war with lots of Anti-War protesters chanting and banging on drums.......and GW Bush plays Nixon.

I think 'Derren Brown: Mind Control' (text only version) is a much better approach to this type of thing than the traditional approach. He often deconstructs his tricks in a similar manner to Penn and Teller.
Still it is awsome and shocking to watch.

I just watched the pick pocket footage again, it is amazing. He even gets the guy's tie off!

Obligatory link to Geller's archnemesis, James Randi.

I wasn't even aware that he was back!. Unfortunately for us in the UK, he never really went away.

Plus, Geller sued Pokemon for using his likeness and a variation of his name, "Un-Geller"...

Uri Geller never really went away. He's often heard of in the UK, usually, as has been said, in association with Michael Jackson. He's a kind of Jackometer. The more Geller is in the news the more Jackson is and it's usually bad news for him.

He's also a fan of some football team (yes, yes - this is the UK and you do know what I mean), either Fulham or Reading United I think, and the claim is that he rubs something, possibly himself, in an attempt to influence the result.

Here's a bet: the minute a director tells Uri, 'I'm going to keep one camera on your hands and superimpose that image over the programme so that it never leaves the screen,' you'll find that Uri's destiny calls him elsewhere.

Clive James sank the slipper into this guy but good.
