Hope and the Hopis

Be a one heart- It is a time to celebrate and not allow yourself to get sucked into fear. "A lot is up in the world today the War in Iraq changes everywhere on the planet. Now we have the 911 attack and the male ego is out in full force. Kill the evil-doers is the chant and the march to war is upon us. No doubt there is much happening in all parts of the world in this transition period, but in the end what is important is how we as individuals and as a collective conscience react or proact to these changes. As individuals, as nations, as humanity we will set the tone for what kind of a world we will begin the next epoch with. What humanity does now will flavor the world in which we live for a very long time. My life will be spent proacting the ways of peace and stability, what will you spend your life doing? " "Message from the Hopi - People of Peace August 2002 You have been telling people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell them that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered: Where are you living? What are you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in right relation? Where is your water? Know your garden. It is time to speak your Truth. Create your community. Be good to each other. And do not look outside yourself for the leader. This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and so swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold onto the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The Elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open and our heads above water. See who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey, comes to a halt. The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word 'struggle' from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we have been waiting for. The Elders Oraibi, Arizona Hopi Nation " TOP

Is it 2002 or 1984?

Boy I am sure this not similar in content and focus to anything that has been posted to MeFi before.

2192 characters
426 words

That's considered an acceptable paper at some schools.

Some people will even disparage goodness if it were posted to the internet these days.

How quaint, the little red man and his toy media.

Quit being bastards guys. Some people have ideals and the capacity to envision their dreams in reality. Or is that too touchy feely? Too Injun, too librul, too human?

Nice post tdg.

I wish matthowie would put another textbox for [more inside] text when submitting a link. This would solve a lot of Rambling Front Page Posts problems.

Perhaps overdone in content but the message remains similar to that of all those with spritiaul values. Alas, as the native Americans and Dali Lamas and Ghandis have discovered, the message is ok if you go up against those with moral values similar to yours--the Brits, say; but it did not work in many other cases.

It's interesting the refrences to water and changeing times. In Astrological circles if you believe in that sort of thing there was recently a change in the stars Uranus has moved into Pices (the fish/water) which means for the next 8 years (?) or so the world will be dominated by Pices and heres some predictions (this probably deserves a FPP once I get enough sources together).

Get a grip on reality. Why is this posted?

There oughta be a name for all those people on the internet who are so crazy and paranoid that it leaches into their web design. Just like spiders on LSD, their ability to use the web is mangled by their brain chemistry. Between this dreaded and useless site, their oft-linked friends at the Konformist, and their right-wing spooky-shadow-world-government counterparts American Freedom, these groups of tormented, psychotic people are singlehandedly leaching both usability and sanity out of the internet.

I like the fact that the TOP was included at the end. I've never seen that in a post before. Other than that, this could have been boiled down to "The Elders say war is bad" in the Preview box. And then the Post button would (hopefully) have lost its attraction.

Ignorance is not commentary. A few, more thoughtfull, commentators here are not disparaging and have some knowledge to contribute....and yet I have not yet heard on this thread from a any who would tell us of the Hopi themselves, other than by way of crude, cursory dismissals revealing an utter lack of knowledge.

The Hopi have their own distinct culture and religious narrative, and they intentionally seal themselves off from the west, and modern influences - to preserve their traditional way of life. Their religious traditions, - which are at the deepest level closely guarded secrets - are closed to non-Hopi...as is Orabai.

Let me sketch out the empirical frame surrounding the Hopi prophecies:

A world increasingly polarized into angry, warring camps with calls on both sides for a war against an "evil" other.......

The unchecked proliferation of technologies of mass destruction....

Environmental deterioration and destabilization.....on a global scale, with the possibility of a sudden, nonlinear-effect, climate catastrophe........

Nothing to see here folks. Move along now, back to your scheduled entertainment.....or you can now choose to exercise your critical faculties -working together with your intuitive sensibilities- to wonder whether we are, perhaps, now in a singular - or a pivotal - time.

or you can now choose to exercise your critical faculties -working together with your intuitive sensibilities- to wonder whether we are, perhaps, now in a singular - or a pivotal - time. Nicely said, troutfishing.

Get a grip on reality. Let me offer an alternative here.... consider that "reality" is much more or different than many of us currently believe it to be. Just what IF????? (An approach like that might make for more interesting commentary on this thread too.)

Those critisizing the length and style of the post are holding onto those very shores of the river. Troutfishing has already mentioned this. Good one tf. Appropriate moniker too.

All it takes is time to focus and read the entire post. Those used to 5 second sound bites and 3 second frame changes, this message is for you.

If you're finding it too different/difficult and can't bridge that gap, you'll bounce [bail], as is your custom.

Thanks for that post, I thought it quite telling [as well as some of the criticisms].

Many look to leaders for solutions, whereas solutions come from within each individual moving in the same direction [dare I say] with the same spirit and intent.

Just because you think it doesn't exist doesn't preclude its existence.

How are many things linked together imperceivably including the spiritual? The crud you dump in the river today, you'll be drinking or treating tomorrow, or not. Simply put, that which goes around, comes around.

Can someone explain TOP to me?

Technicalities of posting etiquette and style aside, this is a heartfelt message that speaks of hope and reason in this time of chaos and collective trauma. Whether you consider yourself spiritual or not, the content is contextually important to our understanding of our world right now, and by God-Godess-Goodness, it just might help us think.

aliceshoe, I believe 'TOP' is just a link (to the top of the page) from the website, inferring that the original poster just copied and pasted a large chunk without looking too carefully.

And also from the linked page: "Who runs the world? Read about the Bilderburgs". But that would be another thread... *8)
